Meet the Team

Remodel Boutique is made up of an incredible staff of creatives, experts, and administrators with backgrounds as diverse as the people of Austin.

Kristen

Owner, Design Manager, Realtor

Let’s give a warm hello to Kristen! Our Owner, Design Manager, and Realtor. She wears a lot of hats and she wears them WELL! Born and raised in Katy, TX, Kristen has lived in Austin since 02 and doesn’t plan on leaving anytime soon. With a BS from UT Austin in retail merchandising and business management, Kristen worked at Dell until one day she came down with a nasty sinus infection. A few days on the couch and a whole lot of HGTV later thinking “I can do that,” she got her real estate license. Her partner, and RB’s Co-Owner Michelle, flipped their personal home to see if they were up to the challenge and got a small return; then flipped their next personal home and got a large return… and well, the rest is history. Get to know Kristen better:

✨She cuts her whole family’s hair (including her own!)

✨As a child, she dreamed of becoming an astronaut or a basketball player.

✨Her favorite hobby is biking with her kids and spending too much money online shopping.

Michelle

Owner, Construction Manager, General Contractor

Meet Michelle, our Co-Owner and Construction Manager. If you asked her what she does at RB, she would say something along the lines of “I mainly walk around making hilarious jokes and pointing out the flaws in others’ work…” and there’s no one better to do just that. After working in retail management for 15 years, she found her way into the construction world byway of a nightmarish home remodel. Like Kristen, she thought “I can do that,” fast forward 20 years later and they’ve built a company that homeowners can trust and that excels in streamlining the construction process. Here are a few quick hits on Michelle:

✨She speaks Spanish, which is helpful but especially so living in the great state of Tejas!

✨Michelle loves to read. She can eat the same food for months. She is NOT ticklish.

✨As a child, she dreamed of becoming a meteorologist or Aquaman (decisions, decisions…)

Brenda Garcia

Construction Project Manager, Architect

Meet Brenda, our Construction Project Manager and Architect here at Remodel Boutique. She’s been in the industry for 9 years, bringing a wealth of experience in both technical and administrative aspects of construction. After graduating as an Architect from Tec de Monterrey in 2016, Brenda started her career in vertical construction before transitioning into residential and commercial projects. She eventually ran her own design-build firm in Monterrey, Mexico, completing more than 25 projects for national and international clients. Now based in Austin, she’s excited to continue learning and contributing in the fast-paced residential building world. Day to day, you’ll find Brenda managing projects with precision, working under pressure, and ensuring each client’s vision transforms into a quality space they can love for years to come.

✨She got married in February 2024, moved to Austin with her wife, and brought along their two beloved dogs.

✨As a child, she dreamed of tackling big challenges and considered medicine, law, or architecture, ultimately choosing the path that was meant for her.

✨She’s a cooking enthusiast, a traveler at heart (Japan is her favorite destination), and a self-proclaimed language junkie who has studied German, French, Italian, and English.

A few words about Remodel Boutique from Brenda herself: “I love working in residential construction because it allows me to merge design and function while helping clients achieve spaces that reflect who they are. Every project is a new challenge and opportunity to create something meaningful.

Juan

Delivery Specialist

Meet Juan, our Delivery Specialist. You’ll more than likely see him all over town being everyone’s right- hand person. Juan has lived in Austin for almost 30 years, having originally come from Waco, Texas. Juan is an OG here at RB, with over 7 years of experience. In that time frame, Juan has grown immensely in his knowledge of home remodeling and all the little details that are required to make a project successful.

Juan was raised by a single mother who worked tirelessly, taught him the importance of responsibility and hard work, along with cherishing family time. He recalls her advice to “always be a positive light even when things aren’t going well,” a sentiment he hopes to pass on to his children and an attitude that everyone admires about Juan! Some fun facts about Juan:

✨ He loves the Cowboys and wanted to be a football player when he was little.

✨ His daughter says he “drives around in a creepy van and fixes people’s homes.”

✨ Fun facts: He was once an extra in a Friday Night Lights episode, and he thinks beaches are overrated.

Victoria

Interior Designer

Meet Victoria, our Interior Designer and Procurement Specialist. From day to day, she handles project management and design of remodels from conception to completion, as well as ad hoc requests. You can find her setting up and maintaining the procurement process, as well as working with our team from the design and construction department as well as Operations.

Her philosophy when it comes to the work we do is greatly impacted by her diverse background. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, her childhood was characterized by frequent moves— including the opportunity to live in Greece and Macedonia. This upbringing instilled a passion within her to create spaces that evoke a sense of comfort and belonging, regardless of location. She graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design and an Associate’s Degree in Architecture. Her appreciation for interior design arises from the integration of her love of problem-solving with a deep-rooted passion for creating impactful and distinctive designs. With her design experience, she’s found it extremely rewarding to be able to create spaces that improve the daily lives of those who interact with them. A few quick hits on Victoria:

✨She played keys in a Boygenius cover band in March.

✨Favorite song: Belinda Says by Alvvays

✨Favorite recent project: A maximalist, Art Deco, New Orleans-inspired project for a new build in South Austin. It involved lots of jewel tones, velvets, and antiques.

Marisol

Interior Designer

Meet Marisol, an interior designer with RB whose interest in design began when she was just 8 years old (!) After-school evenings were spent doodling floor plans and kitchen layouts in a cute little notebook. And while she did choose to pursue a culinary career for the better part of a decade, ultimately, the desire to reconnect to her childhood dream was just too strong to ignore. Trust that we’re reaping the benefits here at RB! In 2016, Marisol transitioned out of the restaurant industry and into the world of interior design. One of Marisol’s best qualities as an interior designer is her belief that good design is about seeing things as they could be, which is why she takes great pride in being able to facilitate beauty and transformation wherever possible. Get to know Marisol a little better:

✨Her dad thinks she’s an architect (this is not the case).

✨Marisol would love to be able to woodwork. She thinks it would be super cool if she could casually build a dining table in weekend. (do the woodworkers out there think this is doable?)

✨She’s been in Austin for 6 years. And her first job was a waitress.‍

And last but not least, from Marisol herself: “Something I would like to eventually implement into my design process, for those willing to experiment, is incorporating a client’s astrological placements and aspects of their human design chart to tailor their environment on a deeper level. Feng Shui could be another layer to this design approach– I love that its impact is not seen, but felt.” We love to see it.

Matthew

Financial Controller

Say hello to Matthew! Our moolah wiz (official job title: Financial Controller). His number one responsibility is telling everyone “no” when they want to spend money on anything… kidding! While yes, he does have a BA in English Literature, a minor in History, and an A.A.S. in Accounting— he was also an Eagle Scout. He wants you to know…

✨Originally hailing from Houston, Texas, he ventured up to Illinois for a while, but like a boomerang, found himself back in the Lone Star State for good (lucky us!).

✨ When he’s not crunching numbers or chasing after spreadsheets, Matthew can be found wrangling his three young boys alongside his beautiful wife, turning their backyard into a splash pad and living room into a jungle gym.

✨He’s won two talent shows for his juggling act. This skill set is pretty much why Matthew’s wife agreed to marry him.
