Our clients reach out to us with a request to fully revamp their primary bathroom. It was situtated in a converted attic space and contained some atypical elements that were not working for their lifestyle.
The existing layout was awkward and limiting with sharply sloped ceilings, low walls, and an open toilet area that didn’t offer the privacy they needed. On top of that, the HVAC unit was tucked away in an attic crawl space behind the walls, making access difficult and design tricky.
We began with a complete gut and reimagined the space from the ground up. By claiming unused attic square footage, we expanded the footprint, enclosed the toilet for privacy, and introduced a soaking tub alongside a frameless shower for a more spa-like experience. To keep function seamless, we built a concealed access hatch into the wainscoting, allowing HVAC servicing without compromising design.
Inspired by their honeymoon in Costa Rica, our clients chose bold blues on the walls, doors, and trim. In the quiet evenings, after the day’s buzz settles, a corner reading nook offers a tranquil retreat for a mother of two young kids — proof that even a bathroom can hold space for both utility and pause.

We began with a full gut, claimed some unused attic space, enclosed the open toilet area, added a soaking tub and frameless shower, and built a concealed attic access hatch within the wainscoting for HVAC servicing.
The finishes were specifically chosen to evoke memories of our clients’ honeymoon in Costa Rica, most notably represented by the bold blue walls, doors, and trim. Once the sun sets and the buzz of daily life dies down, a corner reading nook serves as a serene retreat for a mother of two young kids.
