Sharp Shingle Siding

This East Austin home held plenty of potential, but years of disrepair and DIY fixes had left it in rough shape. While some issues were cosmetic, others were structural and increasingly unsafe. A double-thickness wall at the back of the home was leaning into the porch, and undersized posts meant the roof was beginning to fail.

Sharp Shingle Siding - Bathroom Remodeling (10)

A welcoming new chapter for an East Austin home

We rebuilt the failing walls, reinforced the roof with stained cedar posts, and replaced the roof entirely. New windows, siding, and custom doors, including a carriage-style garage door, gave the home fresh character and durability. The dormer windows and back façade were finished in cedar shingles, while French doors off the porch created a better connection to the backyard.

Finally, landscaping, concrete overlays, fencing, and a thoughtful color palette brought cohesion and curb appeal to the property.

Sharp Shingle Siding

This large East Austin home had a lot of potential that was hiding behind disrepair and DIY jobs. While some issues were cosmetic, others were structural and dangerous.

Project Description

This large East Austin home had a lot of potential that was hiding behind disrepair and DIY jobs. While some issues were cosmetic, others were structural and dangerous. A double-thickness wall on the back of the house was falling over onto the porch. The posts on the back porch were not sufficient for the weight and the roof was beginning to collapse. Even though the paint on this home did turn out stunning, this home needed way more than just a paint job, so we pulled out all the stops:

  • Rebuilt the failing walls
  • Reinforced the porch roof with new stained cedar
  • posts
  • New windows
  • New cedar shingle siding on the dormer windows, sides and back of the home
  • New exterior lights
  • New front door
  • Custom-built carriage style garage door
  • New exterior doors, including new framing for French doors on the back porch
  • Concrete overlay on the back porch and side porch
  • New fence
  • Landscaping, metal edging, and new walkway
  • New roof
  • New paint
